As a dog professional, people often come to me asking my opinion on what to feed their dog. This is a scary question, and truthfully I am not qualified to answer it. I am NOT a vet, nor do I claim to be an expert in the field. However, I thought I would share with you the diet I give my dogs, how we arrived it, what worked/what didn't, etc. I am not trying to suggest anything in any way, but knowledge is power - and the more you know, the more equipped you can be to make the right decision for your dog!
Side note - how awesome is my job?
With humans, mouth health is one of the ways to determine overall health. I am sure the same can be said for dogs. I decided to put them both back on kibble.
I felt bad though.. they clearly didn't love their kibble before. I had to mix in wet food to make them eat it.. whereas with raw there was not forcing anyone to eat anything, they just gobbled it straight up. But I didn't want to be feeding them wet food, as I think that was contributing to their softer poops. So I did a little testing and shopping around. And I found a kibble they LOVE that needed no wet food.
Merrick Backcountry was the one! It is a grain free kibble, with freeze dried DELICIOUS bits infused throughout. My dog's just LOVE it! And I love that they love it.
It's a dog's world.. It really really is.
